The secret to fast, flawless campaign launches

This week, I onboarded a new client on Monday that needed a somewhat complex campaign launched by Friday and my team knocked it out of the park.

So in honor of our victory, here are my 3 favorite tips for how to move fast to meet a tight deadline and not break the entire tech stack.

Make an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done

No matter how small the item, how silly the task, write it all down and assign each task with an owner and due date.

When you're moving fast, it's very easy for things to slip out of your mind in the chaos and mild panic. Writing it all down, assigning owners, and then religiously referencing the tasks list helps make sure all the key pieces get done.

Drill down to the core requirements

When you have a tight deadline, you need to get crystal clear on what is an actual requirement for the launch and what is technically a nice-to-have and can be rapidly addressed in the days after the launch.

Choose the lazy option, reduce your scope, and build a few things with excellence versus sloppily building too many things.

QA, QA, QA

I'm a huge fan of live working sessions to QA assets together right before the campaign goes live.

Run through the tracker, review and test every single asset and workflow and make sure to have someone join who can bring a fresh set of eyes to the build.

Imagine yourself as the intended audience of the campaign to make sure the overall user experience has not been sacrificed in the name of speed.

And obviously caffeine

Every campaign launch needs lots of caffeine, yummy snacks, and cozy socks.

See you next week,
